Pivotal Talent represents a diverse range of talent, from emerging artists to seasoned professionals with collaboration and communication key to the relationships we have with others .  We believe in transparency and integrity coupled with with ethical considerations to the way we work in the profession.
Pivotal Talent's mission as an agency is to nurture and represent exceptional talent, fostering a thriving and inclusive community within the UK theatre industry.

The Agent Team

James Weisz (he/they)
Head Agent

James is an experienced agent with a deep-rooted passion for nurturing and representing exceptional talent.  Having worked extensively within the arts for over 25 years as an agent, writer, director and producer. These combined skills allow James to identify, discover and nurture talent.

 

James has a genuine commitment to fostering artistic growth though all endeavours, and has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and advocate within the industry.

James's expertise spans theatre, film, tv and radio. With extensive knowledge and and a superb network of connections James is able to provide tailored guidance and strategic support to clients at all stages of their careers.

​

Originally from Brighton and Hove, James is a champion of diversity and inclusivity and is dedicated to representing artists from all backgrounds and promoting a more equitable theatrical landscape. James is committed to advocating for fair compensation, ethical practices, and opportunities for underrepresented voices.

​

James is actively involved in various industry organisations and initiatives beyond his agenting, including Pivotal Productions CIC, Troika Film Collective, and AlumXPro. He is also a member of the FRSA and Essex Film Collective. â€‹

 

When not working James enjoys visiting art exhibitions, seeking out new plays and  spending time in the BFI.

Carly Louise (she/her)

Junior Agent

Carly Louise is a dynamic agent at Pivotal Talent. With a vibrant background as a West End performer, Carly brings a wealth of experience and insight to her role in the industry.

​

Her career on stage has equipped her with a deep understanding of the performing arts, allowing her to effectively advocate for her clients across theatre, film, and television. With years of experience as an agent, Carly excels in providing tailored guidance and strategic support, helping artists navigate their careers with confidence.

​

In addition to her work as an agent, Carly is passionate about education and has taught at several prestigious drama schools throughout the UK. Her dedication to nurturing talent extends beyond her agency work, as she strives to inspire the next generation of performers.

When she’s not championing her clients, Carly enjoys afternoons with coffee and leisurely walks with her dog.

Anthony Whiteman (he/him)

Creative Consultant

Anthony Whiteman draws on a rich and varied career in musical theatre and live performance to support and guide the talent at Pivotal Talent Agency. As a Creative Consultant, he offers performers invaluable insight into the casting process.

​

Having worked professionally with some of the UK’s leading casting directors and producers — including Pippa Ailion, David Grindrod and offices representing Cameron Macintosh and The Really Useful Group — Anthony understands what it takes to make a lasting impression in a competitive industry. His own background as a performer in major musicals such as Cats, Top Hat, and White Christmas gives him a unique performer-first perspective on auditioning, creative development, and career longevity.

Anthony has also contributed to the casting and creative development of productions including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Billy Elliot, and Little Miss Sunshine, and has worked closely with casting teams such as Debbie O’Brien, Sarah-Jane Price, Harry Blumenau, Danielle Tarento, The Arcola and SellaDoor Theatre.

This dual experience as both creative and performer allows him to offer well-rounded, practical advice to those entering or navigating the professional world.

​Whether advising on casting opportunities, offering creative insight, or drawing on his extensive industry network, Anthony plays a vital role in supporting the agents at Pivotal. His experience helps inform strategic decisions and connects the team with leading creatives across the industry — ensuring our clients are represented with both expertise and vision.
